Hands-on NPORS crane / lift supervisor training with a recognised card at the end

This NPORS N405 Crane / Lift Supervisor course combines classroom theory with a large element of hands-on practical tuition, then finishes with the NPORS theory and practical tests. It is aimed at novice lift supervisors and at those with limited experience who need a recognised card to work on site.

The crane or lift supervisor directs lifting operations on site, making sure every lift follows the plan set by the Appointed Person.

The course is delivered in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire by Safeteam Training Group, a CITB Approved Training Organisation with its head office in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

Pricing and course length: the price shown is the starting price. Course length and final cost depend on the delegate's experience, which Safeteam assesses before booking, so a delegate with relevant previous experience may need fewer days than a complete beginner.

Who Is This NPORS N405 Crane / Lift Supervisor Course For?

The novice course suits people who are new to the role or who have some experience but have never been trained or tested. If you are already experienced, Safeteam also runs a one-day experienced worker test that goes straight to assessment.

To move from a Red card to a Blue card you need to complete the relevant NVQ, which is assessed on site while you work.

NPORS N405 Crane / Lift Supervisor FAQs

How long is the NPORS N405 Crane / Lift Supervisor course?

At least two days at the Aylesbury venue. The exact length depends on your previous experience, which the provider assesses before you book.

Do I need any previous experience?

No. The novice course is designed for people with little or no experience in the role, and the training is mostly practical, hands-on tuition.

I already have experience. Is there a shorter option?

Yes. Experienced lift supervisors who meet the criteria can take a one-day experienced worker test instead of the full course.

What does the NPORS theory test involve?

A multiple-choice test of 25 questions, taken alongside a practical test.

Do I need the CITB HS&E test?

Only if you want the CSCS-logoed Red or Blue card. For that version you must have passed the HS&E test within two years of applying for the card.
