First aid
Qualsafe Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work, Level 3 First Aid at Work, and the FAW Requalification. FAW lasts three years and the requalification must be completed before it expires — miss the window and it is the full three-day course again. See all first aid courses.
Fire safety with live extinguishers
Qualsafe Level 2 Fire Safety including live fire extinguisher practice. Using an extinguisher is a physical skill, and there is a real difference between someone who has discharged one on a controlled fire and someone who has only seen a diagram. See all fire safety courses.
Mental health
Mental Health First Aid accredited by MHFA England — the two-day qualification for designated mental health first aiders rather than a general awareness session.
PAT testing
Portable Appliance Testing. There is no legal requirement to PAT test at a fixed interval, but the Electricity at Work Regulations do require electrical equipment to be maintained in a safe condition — and inspection and testing is the usual way of demonstrating that. Training your own person is generally cheaper than contracting it out annually.
