First Aid for Appointed Persons Courses

A First Aid for Appointed Persons course is for workplaces where a first aid needs assessment shows a trained first aider is not necessary, but someone still needs to take charge of first aid arrangements, such as looking after the first aid kit and calling the emergency services. It suits lower-hazard workplaces with fewer than 25 employees, and higher-hazard workplaces such as construction or warehousing with fewer than 5 employees, where a risk assessment indicates a first aider is not required. Typically a half-day course, it covers dealing with an emergency, helping an adult who is unresponsive, seizures, and accident recording and reporting, including RIDDOR and COSHH.
