Delivery Method
Classroom theory combined with practical training in a realistic environment at the Birmingham technical centre. Tutors come from construction, utility and civil engineering backgrounds.

Certification
Successful learners receive an EUSR photo ID card detailing the qualification.
Standards
Category 2 covers the minimum training and assessment required to safely excavate and maintain holes and trenches using both hand tools and hand-held power tools, and incorporates the relevant requirements of HSE guidance HSG47 and HSG150.
Good to Know
Safe digging assumes the services have already been located. If you do both jobs, the Combined Category 1 & 2 course covers locating and excavating together in a single day.
