IOSH Working Safely Online Training

IOSH Working Safely is a one-day introductory course for people at any level, in any sector, who need a grounding in workplace health and safety. It is the companion course to IOSH Managing Safely, aimed at employees rather than those supervising others.

Delivered live online by a tutor, the course explains why health and safety matters, what everyone's personal responsibilities are, and how to spot and respond to common hazards before they cause harm.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered online as a live instructor-led session. Delegates join remotely and take part in the same tutor-led discussion and exercises as a classroom course, without the travel.

Who Is This Course For?

All employees, at any level and in any industry. No prior health and safety knowledge is required. Employers often use it as a baseline course across a whole workforce.

Key Learning Outcomes

• Understand personal responsibility for health and safety at work
• Distinguish between a hazard and a risk

Assessment and Certification

Delegates complete a multiple-choice assessment and a hazard-spotting exercise. Successful delegates receive the IOSH Working Safely certificate, recognised across all sectors. A refresher is recommended every three years.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
