What is Legionella?
It is critically important that managers are aware of the health risks associated with water. It is often assumed that the water taken from the tap is safe; in fact, the Water Management Regulations 1999 require that water companies distribute water of a safe standard to your premises. However, the incoming mains water is not sterile, there will always be a low level of background bacteria. Once on the premises, it is the responsibility of the site management to ensure the safety of the water.
