Included in the NATAS confined space awareness course is all of the vital information and advice your employees need to know to safely and effectively work in confined spaces. This includes everything from the very definition of a confined space to dealing with emergencies and all procedures.
To ensure efficient learning, our confined space awareness course is split into four sections covering all the fundamental aspects of legislation and procedures surrounding working in confined spaces:
Section One
In the introduction of the course, we will cover the definition of a confined space, what the existing legislation is, and what employees‘ responsibilities are.
Section Two
Next, we will teach you how to perform a risk assessment before working in a confined space, including how to identify hazards, how to record them and implement your findings, and how and when to review your assessment.
Section Three
This section will look at control measures. These are any measures put in place to control any hazards or risks as much as humanly possible.
Section Four
Finally, we will detail how to deal with emergency procedures, covering first aid, fire safety, and when a plant needs to be shut down. We will also look at the need for ongoing training and its importance.
Assessment
Delegates must obtain 80% to pass the course online, which is the equivalent of 2 wrong answers. Any delegates that did not obtain 80% have 3 attempts to resit and pass the course, delegates that have no passed after 3 attempts must purchase an additional license.
Certification
