CABWI NRSWA Streetworks Supervisors Course in Harworth
This CABWI-accredited NRSWA Streetworks Supervisors course runs at PGL North in Harworth, Nottinghamshire, a centre with purpose-built streetworks and utilities training facilities.
Course Duration
Five days, including the qualifying final assessment.
Delivery Method
Classroom-based theory combined with practical sessions at the Harworth centre.
Who Should Attend
Anyone supervising or about to supervise works within roads, streets and pathways. Supervisors oversee operatives to make sure work is carried out safely and in line with the regulations, particularly around signing, lighting and guarding.
Carrying out the work yourself? See the Streetworks Operatives course at this venue.
What You'll Learn
The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 sets safety and quality standards for anyone working on local UK roads — single carriageways with speed limits up to 60mph and dual carriageways up to 40mph. This course covers the units required for the supervisor qualification and the responsibilities that come with the role.
Assessment
Supervisors are assessed by written assignment and observation exercise, alongside written tests and practical demonstrations across the week.
Certification
Successful delegates receive a CABWI certificate and qualify for a Streetworks Qualifications Register (SWQR) card, issued through the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
Renewal
The SWQR card runs for five years. Renew before it expires with a NRSWA Reassessment at this venue.
Good to Know
You can hold both operative and supervisor qualifications, but under the Act you cannot act as both on the same site at the same time.
