First Aid, Mental Health and Fire Safety Training

Siren Training was founded by firefighters in 2012 and has grown into a national provider with a team of more than 250 instructors — paramedics, NHS clinicians, former police and armed forces personnel, and psychologists. That background shows in how the courses are taught: the emphasis is on what people actually do in the first few minutes of an emergency, rather than on working through a syllabus. Training covers workplace first aid, mental health first aid, fire safety and workplace conduct, delivered in the classroom and live online across the UK and Ireland.

Workplace first aid
The three statutory workplace qualifications, set by your first aid needs assessment: one-day Emergency First Aid at Work for lower-risk offices, shops and similar settings; the three-day First Aid at Work for higher-risk environments such as construction, manufacturing and rail; and requalification before a certificate lapses. Certificates are valid for three years.
Mental Health First Aid
Accredited by MHFA England and delivered by MHFA England certified trainers. The range runs from a half-day awareness session through the one-day Champion course to the two-day MHFAider qualification, with separate routes for managers and for those working with young people. MHFAider certification lasts three years and includes ongoing support resources beyond the course itself. See the wider mental health and wellbeing range.
Paediatric first aid
For early years settings, schools, childminders and sports coaches, where paediatric first aid is a statutory requirement under the EYFS framework rather than a matter of good practice. Full and refresher routes are available.
Fire safety
Fire marshal and warden training combining theory with practical extinguisher work, aimed at the people who will actually run an evacuation. Workplace conduct and equality
Sexual harassment prevention and equality training, addressing the preventative duty now placed on employers rather than treating harassment purely as a disciplinary matter after the fact. Suits organisations building this into mandatory annual training alongside diversity and equality content.
Classroom or live online?
First aid qualifications require practical assessment, so the physical first aid courses run in the classroom. Mental health first aid and awareness courses work equally well live online — MHFA England accredits both formats identically — which suits organisations with staff spread across sites. Accreditation and certification
First aid qualifications are FAIB approved; mental health first aid courses are accredited by MHFA England and taught by their certified trainers. Certification runs for three years across the range, after which a refresher or requalification is required to stay current. Certificates are issued by Siren Training under the relevant awarding body.
