First Aid at Work (FAW) in Islington

First Aid at Work is the three-day workplace qualification for higher-risk environments — construction, manufacturing, rail, warehousing and similar settings where the range of foreseeable injuries is wider and help may take longer to arrive.

It covers everything in the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course and goes considerably further, adding fractures, spinal injury, head injury, chest injuries, burns, poisoning and the recognition and management of medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy.

Siren Training deliver this course exclusively through active and former emergency service professionals, including firefighters and paramedics, so the scenarios are drawn from real incidents rather than textbook cases.

Course Location

This classroom course is delivered in Islington, Greater London, N1 7BJ, over three consecutive days. Sessions run from 09:45 to 17:00.

Who Is This Course For?

Nominated workplace first aiders in higher-risk environments, and anyone whose first aid needs assessment calls for the full qualification rather than the one-day course. No prior qualification is required.

  • Assessing an incident and managing the scene safely
  • The unresponsive casualty, primary survey and recovery position

Assessment is by continuous practical observation across the three days together with a written paper. Successful delegates receive a FAIB-approved First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years. A two-day requalification course renews it, provided the existing certificate has not expired by more than 28 days.

Siren Training was founded by firefighters in 2012 and has grown into a national provider with a team of more than 250 instructors — paramedics, NHS clinicians, former police and armed forces personnel, and psychologists. That background shows in how the courses are taught: the emphasis is on what people actually do in the first few minutes of an emergency, rather than on working through a syllabus. Training covers workplace first aid, mental health first aid, fire safety and workplace conduct, delivered in the classroom and live online across the UK and Ireland.

Envico Limited is an independent intermediary working in association with Siren Training. Envico is not accredited by or associated with examination bodies or institutions in any way. All courses advertised on this website are advertised and delivered by independent and established accredited or approved training providers.
