Recognise Asbestos Risks Before Work Starts
Course Overview
Asbestos is still present in many buildings constructed or refurbished before 2000, and disturbing it unknowingly puts workers at serious risk. This half-day awareness course explains what asbestos is, where it tends to be found and why it is so harmful, so that anyone working on or in buildings can avoid disturbing it and knows what to do if they suspect they have found it. It supports the information, instruction and training duty in Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Who should attend?
Site-based staff, tradespeople, construction workers and maintenance personnel who could come into contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) during their work. No previous training is needed.
