CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) Course in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire
The UK construction and engineering sectors are held to a stiff list of Health and Safety Laws, and this CITB SMSTS course is designed to help you to achieve exactly that. The SMSTS qualification is a core part of the Approved Code of Practice for the Construction Regulations 2015, so your designated supervisors are required to offer a minimum standard of competence. Every element of your civil engineering and construction work must march to the CITB drum, but you can designate trainees to fulfil that role.
Those who complete the SMSTS course will be equipped to implement health and safety legislation in day-to-day operations, so most businesses designate employees who already have a supervising role on their job sites. The course is designed for supervisors, project managers, and overseers. Not all businesses are large enough for dedicated project managers, so the SMSTS is also perfect for proprietors who need to fulfil this role themselves. As an employer, the course will help you to strategise your workplace more safely, so we recommend all CITB-registered employers complete the course. Client-facing staff can also benefit from this training.

Course Objectives
The CITB SMSTS will keep your workplace accountable by ensuring that you meet health and safety legislation. With us at your side, you can enjoy a safe and qualified workforce. Your new qualifications will keep your building sites, and all who use them, protected. They’ll also make sure you comply with the laws that govern your business so that you can meet your insurance requirements and prevent libellous incidents. Our training is built to help you meet the Construction Site Safety-Health, Safety, and Environmental Information Manual (GE700). The SMSTS course will teach your designated employees how to keep tight control over your health and safety culture in a range of conditions, including confined spaces, excavations, and elevations. It’ll improve your electrical and asbestos safety while helping you to prepare method statements. This way, your auditing will be far easier to complete.
The SMSTS and SMSTS Refresher courses are appropriate if you employ site managers who plan, organise, monitor, and control groups of employees. Once they’ve completed the course, your designated supervisors will be able to implement the health and environmental legislation that impacts upon your day-to-day operations.
