CITB SMSTS Course Online (Instructor-led)

The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is the five-day standard for people who manage or take responsibility for construction sites. This course is delivered live online by an instructor over five consecutive days, so delegates can attend from anywhere in the UK without travelling to a training centre.

The course is aimed at people who manage, supervise or take responsibility for construction sites. It is particularly suitable for:

Entry requirements

There are no formal academic entry requirements for SMSTS. Delegates should have a good standard of spoken and written English, as the course involves written materials, group discussions and assessments. Previous experience of working in construction is beneficial but not essential.

Certification

Delegates who successfully complete the course receive the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate, valid for five years. To maintain the qualification, delegates should complete the SMSTS Refresher course before their existing certificate expires.

All you need to complete our e-learning courses is a computer, tablet or smartphone, an internet connection and Zoom.

To attend a remote online course delegates must have access to a computer, laptop, tablet or phone that uses a microphone and webcam.

E-learning is flexible, efficient, and cost-effective, meaning you can progress through the modules at your own pace, at your own time to fit the training in around your work and personal life.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
