CITB SSSTS Refresher Course Delivered Online by Instructor
This is a 2 day course delivered by an approved trainer. The course is delivered on Zoom video conferencing software - you can join on any mobile device or computer.
Courses start at 8.30am and finish at 4pm each day.
After purchasing your course, you will be able to login to your account and view everything you need to know for the course.
Upon completing the course you will receive your official CITB SSSTS Certificate which is valid for 5 years.
Learning Outcomes
Our Site Supervisor course is designed for site managers, agents, and other construction industry professionals. These people may have responsibility for planning, organising, controlling, monitoring, and administering groups of workers. The SSSTS course is aimed at individuals who have – or expect to acquire – supervisory responsibilities in the construction industry.
At the end of the course you will have a refreshed understanding of:
- health and safety law and how it applies to supervisor
- your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
- risk assessments and the need for method statements
- effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
- monitoring site activities effectively
- timely intervention when bad practice is identified

Course structure
The SSSTS Refresher course has a 1 day duration, with guided presentations and discussions with the tutor followed by an end of course exam.
The course programme is as follows:
- The Health and Safety at Work Act and HSE regulations.
- Control measures and risk assessments.
- Legal responsibilities of site supervisors.
- Specific site issues that challenge supervisors daily.
- Effective toolbox talks (a short presentation on a specific area of health and safety, presented by the candidates).
- Supervision of occupational health.
- Behavioural safety.
Entry Requirements
General Requirements
The CITB SSSTS Refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the two-day Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of successful attendance. If you are unable to provide a copy of your certificate, or a screen shot of the CITB online card checker can be used to establish you currently hold a valid SSSTS certificate. If you cannot be located on the system and no evidence of your certificate can be found, they will have to attend the full Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course.
Delegate Requirements
- Valid and in-date photo ID.
There are some basic IT requirements listed below for a Live Online Training Course:
- A device to attend the course. This can be a PC, Laptop or Tablet / iPad.
- A quiet room to complete your training course at home or the office.
- Connection to internet or Wi-Fi
- Internet Browser – Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome.
Additional information
If you do not have a webcam connected to your device, you can always connect a 2nd device such as a tablet or smartphone to act as your camera for the course. Many learners simply rest the phone against their PC or Laptop if required.
You must also have an existing and in-date SSSTS certificate to attend this course, if your certificate has expired you will need to complete the Full 2 day SSSTS course or contact CITB directly to request an extension.
If you try to complete the course without a valid certificate CITB will reject your results and as a training provider there is nothing Marble Training can do for you here. Contact our team if you're not sure what to do.
Results
All learners will receive their results immediately and same day. There are 3 outcomes to the SSSTS multiple choice test which are:
- Pass
- Fail with the option to resit exam within 90 days
- Fail and need to sit the course again
Upon passing the exam your results will be submitted to the CITB who will distribute your certificate within 7-10 days.
There is also a Risk Assessment exercise which will be guided and marked by your assigned trainer.
Pass rates are explained during the course and the Marble Training Support team will help with any requirements such as certificates, resits or re-booking a course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.
Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.

You will be provided with a username and password which will enable you to access the e-learning portal. Login to start your course, once you have completed and passed the course, you will be able to download and print your certificate straight away.
