CPCS A17 Telescopic Handler (Novice) in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
This novice course gives foundation training and assessment in operating telescopic handlers, leading to the CPCS A17 technical test. It covers all sizes of telehandler excluding 360-degree slew machines.
The novice route is the right choice if you have some, limited or no experience of the machine. If you already operate a telehandler regularly and need certification, the experienced operator route is shorter and considerably cheaper.
Delivery Method
Delivered at the accredited training centre at Rings End, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, PE13 4DE. CPCS courses can only be held at an accredited centre and cannot be delivered at your own premises. The centre is a short distance from March and Peterborough.
Course Criteria
- You must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment touch screen test within the previous two years.
- No prior experience of the machine is required.
Course Content
On completion you will be able to:
- Operate the machine for all normal tasks
- Decide whether a particular load is safe to lift
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions
- Understand how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved
- Understand the effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions on machine stability
- Load, store and transport representative materials
Certification
Successful delegates receive a CPCS Red Trained Operator card. To upgrade to a blue competence card you will need to complete the relevant Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations. The same course is available under NPORS as category N010.
