Designed for anyone who works at height using access equipment (MEWPs) alongside their main trade — electricians, painters, decorators and cleaners, for example — who want to add a new skill.

- The different types of MEWP and how they compare
- Operating MEWPs safely and understanding their limitations
- Pre-use checks, inspections and function tests
- Planning your route before operating the machine
- Travelling the route and manoeuvring the MEWP
- Setting the MEWP up for work
- Hands-on operational practice
- Achievement testing
- Choosing and using fall arrest equipment
- Log book issue
- Course review and close
Certification
Successful delegates are issued an ePAL — the electronic Powered Access Licence — giving instant recognition of identity and the categories held. The ePAL remains valid for 5 years.
Additional Information
Delegates must be at least 16 years old and physically fit. Literacy is desirable but not mandatory, as is prior driving experience (as an indication of dexterity).
