Mental Health Awareness Training – Rainham, Kent
This half-day, MHFA England accredited introductory course raises awareness of mental health, helping delegates understand what mental health is, challenge stigma, and feel more confident supporting someone who may be struggling.

Course Content
- What mental health is and how to challenge stigma
- A basic introduction to common mental health issues including depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, eating disorders, suicide and self-harm
- Spotting signs of distress
- Looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
- Building confidence to offer support to someone in distress
Course Duration
This is a half-day course, consisting of a four-hour session starting at 08:30. Numbers are limited to 25 people per course.
Assessment
Learning takes place through presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. There is no formal exam.
Certification
On completion, delegates receive a manual, a workbook with a wellbeing toolkit, and a certificate of attendance confirming they are Mental Health Aware.

Mental Health Awareness is a shorter introductory session, while Mental Health First Aid is a two-day course that qualifies delegates as MHFAiders® able to actively support colleagues using the MHFA action plan.
