This two-year, competency-based qualification is delivered as a home study programme, assessed and administered by Lighthouse Safety Training Ltd. It's aimed at experienced health and safety practitioners looking to progress their career, and is accepted by IOSH when applying for Graduate Membership (Grad IOSH).

Course Content
- Promote a positive health and safety culture
- Develop and implement the health and safety policy
- Develop and implement effective communication systems for health and safety information
- Develop and maintain individual and organisational competence in health and safety matters
- Identify, assess and control health and safety risks
- Develop and implement proactive monitoring systems for health and safety
- Develop and implement reactive monitoring systems for health and safety

Course Duration
This is a two-year programme, completed alongside your normal working role. Each unit requires candidates to maintain a record of Continuing Professional Development.
Assessment
This is a competence-based qualification. Candidates build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their competence against each unit's learning outcomes, which can include observation reports, assignments and reports, professional discussion, witness testimony, work products, worksheets, and recognition of prior learning. Assessment and internal quality assurance is carried out by Lighthouse Safety Training Ltd.
Certification
Successful candidates receive the ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice, accepted by IOSH toward Graduate Membership (Grad IOSH).
