IOSH Leading Safely®

This 1-day course gives anyone with leadership responsibility the practical knowledge and strategic insight to drive sustainable safety and health improvements across their organisation. Delivered in conjunction with business leaders, the course helps senior leaders benchmark their organisation's current and future safety and health priorities against global models of good practice.

Course Location

This course runs at our training centre in Rainham, Kent, ME8 8BE. We can also deliver this course at your workplace if suitable facilities are available – get in touch to discuss in-house options.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for senior leaders and anyone with leadership responsibility for safety and health within their organisation.

Course Content

The course is delivered over five hours and can be tailored to your organisation, sector or geographical location. It covers:

• What safety and health means for different leadership roles
• The responsibilities and behaviours of a leader
• What effective safety and health leadership looks like
• How to get things right, and how leaders can make improvements
• The benefits of effective safety and health leadership

Delegates benchmark their current and future safety and health vision and priorities against global models of good practice gathered from leading organisations worldwide.

Course Duration

This is a one-day event, running from 09:00 to 16:30 (the core session is delivered over five hours).

Assessment

Learners use a diagnostic tool, accessed via a mobile app, to identify their current safety and health position against a set of critical questions, with recommended actions. At the end of the course, delegates commit to a personal action plan to improve their own and their organisation's safety and health management.

Certification

Successful candidates receive the IOSH Leading Safely® certificate, which does not have an expiry date, though IOSH recommends a refresher course every five years. Delegates also receive access to the diagnostic tool/action planner app and the IOSH safety leadership community.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

To join online courses, delegates have to log in via a link provided through a computer or laptop with a camera, screen, microphone and access to the internet.

E-learning and Online (Instructor-led) training is more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
