IOSH Working Safely®

This 1-day course trains employees how to contribute towards health and safety in the workplace and clearly explains their responsibilities, as well as what their employer should provide in the interests of health and safety. It's internationally recognised and ideal for organisations that need to demonstrate evidence of health and safety compliance.

Course Location

This course runs at our training centre in Rainham, Kent, ME8 8BE. We can also deliver this course at your workplace if suitable facilities are available – get in touch to discuss in-house options.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for employees at all levels who need to understand their responsibilities for safety toward themselves, colleagues and others affected by work activities.

Course Content

The course covers identifying hazards and evaluating risks in the workplace, appropriate workplace precautions, assisting managers with written risk assessments, following organisational health and safety policy, carrying out work activities without undue risk, and reporting accidents and incidents. It's delivered across four modules:

• Introducing Working Safely
• Defining hazards and risks
• Identifying common hazards
• Improving safety performance

The course includes many interactive exercises to enhance the learning experience, and other subjects bespoke to company requirements can also be covered.

Course Duration

This is a one-day course, running from 08:30 to 17:00.

Assessment

Candidates complete a short assessment paper of 10 multiple-choice questions and 3 paper-based hazard identification practical assessments.

Certification

Successful candidates receive the IOSH Working Safely® electronic certificate. The certificate does not have an expiry date.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.

E-learning and Online (Instructor-led) training is more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective.

Short online courses also help employers to demonstrate that they have fulfilled their legal duties to ensure their personnel have been adequately trained.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
