NEBOSH General Certificate Course Delivered Online

Who Should Attend the NEBOSH Construction Certificate?

Directors, Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders or Safety Representatives who play a significant role within the management of organisational health & safety should attend the NEBOSH General Certificate.

Delivery Method

Delivered via Zoom video conferencing software, the training follows the same curriculum as the classroom course and is delivered to the same standard. The same examination takes place but via our secure online assessment technology.

Course Objectives

As stated within the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, any manager who is appointed to control health and safety issues must be ‘suitably and sufficiently trained’. The NEBOSH National General Certificate is an examined basic level qualification designed to provide this necessary knowledge and understanding of health & safety.

Course Content

The NEBOSH General Certificate syllabus is divided into 2 units:

NG1 – Management of Health and Safety

  • Why we should manage workplace Health & Safety
  • How health & safety management systems work & what they look like
  • Managing Risk – understanding people & process
  • Managing change & procedures

NG2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards

  • Physical & Psychological health
  • Musculoskeletal health
  • Chemical & Biological Agents
  • General Workplace Issues
  • Work Equipment
  • Fire
  • Electricity

In addition to classroom tuition time, NEBOSH advises a further 40 hours of private study to ensure a successful result.

Assessment

Assessment is completed in two stages:

NG1 is via access to an Open Book Examination Portal with questions based on a Safety Scenario the delegate will demonstrate their knowledge of how to apply the relevant regulations and safety measures required to mitigate the scenario. You will have access to your Open Book Examination for 24 hours.

NG2 is to conduct an unaided workplace safety inspection which outlines 10 workplace hazards from a minimum of 5 hazard categories, with the delegate outlining control measures to reduce the risk so far as reasonably practicable. Within 10 days of completing the NG1 Open Book Examination, the delegate must hand in their completed practical assessments.

To achieve this qualification delegates must pass both elements NG1 & NG2.

Certification

On successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety certificate.
