RTITB Counterbalance Forklift Truck Operator Course - Novice

Our RTITB Counterbalance Forklift Truck Operator Course (Novice) is a five-day programme delivering a minimum of 32.5 hours of instruction for up to 3 delegates. It provides the skills needed to operate the forklift truck safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection and recall, and explain the causes of truck and load instability.

This course is for operators with little or no previous experience of using a counterbalance forklift truck. The training complies with the standards set out in the HSE Code of Practice L117, and enables successful operators to use any counterbalance forklift up to a 5000 kg lifting capacity (with authorisation) anywhere in the UK.

Since the safe use of forklift trucks requires delegates to consult safety notices and read and thoroughly understand the manufacturer's instruction manual, English literacy and language comprehension are important requirements. The course consists of classroom instruction, presentation, written assessment, and practical training and assessment.

Certification Upon Completion

Successful delegates will receive an e-certificate accredited by RTITB, valid for a period of three years from the date of the course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
