The SIA Top-Up Refresher for Security Guards is the training required to renew an existing Security Guard licence. SIA licences run for three years, and renewal now depends on completing top-up training rather than reapplying alone.
The course revisits the core Security Officer content and delivers the mandatory additions, including emergency first aid awareness and terror threat awareness and response. It is typically a single day and runs across a broad network of UK centres.
