The 360° excavator splits across two CPCS categories by machine weight: A58 covers machines below 10 tonnes and A59 covers machines above 10 tonnes. The relationship only runs one way — an A58 card does not authorise you to operate an A59 machine, but passing A59 awards A58 with the same endorsement, so you do not need to book both. Each carries endorsements for tracked, wheeled and lifting operations, and the lifting endorsement matters if you will be lifting with the machine rather than only excavating.
