The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations is the recognised work-based qualification for bricklayers and trowel trades, and the route to a blue CSCS Skilled Worker card. It covers erecting masonry structures and setting out, with optional units for masonry cladding, thin joint systems, repair and maintenance work, concreting and drainage. Assessment is carried out in the workplace against evidence from the jobs you already do, so there is no exam and no need to attend college. Providers list it either as the broad Trowel Occupations qualification or under the Bricklaying pathway – both lead to the same certificate.
