Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness in Exeter, Devon

Schools in England carry new statutory allergy-safety responsibilities from September 2026, covering staff training and emergency preparedness. Staff and volunteers need the knowledge and confidence to respond quickly and appropriately when an allergy-related emergency happens.

This qualification prepares learners to recognise, manage and respond to allergic reactions and associated medical emergencies, including anaphylaxis and asthma attacks. It is written specifically for staff and volunteers in schools and education settings who are responsible for the care, supervision and safety of children and young people.

Face-to-face delivery lets learners practise emergency procedures under supervision, work through realistic scenarios, ask questions of an experienced trainer and correct mistakes before facing a real emergency.

Delivery Method

Delivered at the Champion Training Solutions training centre, Thorverton Road, Marsh Barton, Exeter, EX2 8GN. Groups of 12 to 16 can also have the training delivered at their own premises within the South West.

• How to safely manage allergy in schools
• What an allergy is and how allergic reactions occur
• Signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and asthma
• Providing first aid to a casualty with suspected anaphylaxis or having an asthma attack
• How to treat an allergic reaction
• The impact allergies can have on a child's wellbeing
• How to report and record incidents

Certification

Successful learners receive the Level 3 Award in Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness.
