Course Overview
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NG) is a widely recognised health and safety qualification. The NG offers an excellent grounding in the essentials of health and safety.
This qualification meets the academic requirements for Technician membership (Tech IOSH) of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
This is a 2-week course, spread over two separate weeks.

Learning Outcomes
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety program focuses on practical solutions to your health and safety needs. Upon successful completion of the qualification, you will acquire the ability to:
- Provide guidance on obligations and duties outlined in the UK health and safety legislation
- Explain and justify the necessity for enhancements and changes in health and safety standards within your organisation

- Positively shape, promote and communicate an effective health and safety culture
- Ensure their teams undertake their day-to-day activities more safely thanks to the awareness and knowledge gained
- Formulate and communicate emergency protocols and know when to use a permit-to-work system
- Assess the efficiency of your organisation’s health and safety management systems through continuous monitoring, audits, and evaluations
- Assist your organisation in effectively overseeing contracted work arrangements
- Be able to successfully prepare for a health and safety audit

Learner Eligibility
All courses will be presented in English and so all delegates will need to speak, understand, and write English. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.
