CABWI New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) for Operatives Course in Farnham, Surrey
This NRSWA – New Roads and Streetworks Act will provide you with the mechanism for recognising competence in excavation and reinstatement in the highway.

The information on this course is generally delivered through a combination of practical assessments and classroom training.
Course Duration
5 days
NRSWA Operative Units of competence within the New Roads and Streetworks Act are:
- Location and avoidance of underground apparatus.
- Signing, lighting and guarding.
- Excavation in the highway.
- Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
- Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials.
- Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
- Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.
Requirements
A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course.
Assessment
At the end of the five days, candidates will be required to pass a multiple choice test.
Certification
Once the course has been completed candidates will receive a CABWI Certificate and SWQR ID card.
When Does the Qualification Expire?
The certificate and card lasts for 5 years.
How to Renew the Qualification
In order for candidates to renew their NRSWA qualification they must attend the 2 day refresher course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.
For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
