Course Overview

A one-day classroom course for anyone who could be the first person a colleague turns to. It covers common mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, stress and trauma, how to recognise the warning signs, how to start a supportive conversation and listen without judgement, and how to guide someone towards professional support.

The course does not qualify you as a mental health professional – it gives you the confidence to respond and to signpost help.

Employees at any level who want to be able to support colleagues, and organisations building a network of people trained in first aid for mental health. Managers and supervisors who need the supervisory side should consider the two-day Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health course.

How is this different from the Supervising course?

This one-day course is for anyone who might be a first point of contact. The two-day Supervising course adds the leadership side for managers and supervisors.
