Three Days of Hands-On Training for Workplace First Aiders
Course Overview
A three-day, practical Level 3 First Aid at Work course that gives first aiders the skills needed in the modern workplace, with plenty of practice time to build the confidence and knowledge to handle first aid emergencies. The course is designed to help employers meet their regulatory and statutory duties in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
Who Should Attend?
Staff nominated as workplace first aiders, particularly in workplaces where the employer's first aid needs assessment calls for a fully trained first aider rather than an emergency first aider.
Course Content
Everything in the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course – the role of the first aider, assessing an incident, CPR and the use of a defibrillator, managing an unresponsive casualty, choking, wounds, bleeding and shock – plus the recognition and treatment of a wider range of injuries and illnesses, such as fractures, head and spinal injuries, burns, poisoning, and medical conditions including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy.

Practical assessment by the trainer, completed by the last day of the course.

Delivered in a classroom at Technology House, High Post Business Park, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 6AT – just off the A345 between Amesbury and Salisbury.

Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.

Do I need FAW or EFAW?
That depends on your employer's first aid needs assessment. FAW is the three-day course for higher-risk or larger workplaces; EFAW is the one-day course for lower-risk workplaces.
