Course Overview
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) teaches the basic aspects of dealing with emergencies, with an emphasis on those that occur in the workplace. It is practical, with plenty of practice time, and is designed to help employers meet their duties in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
Who Should Attend?
Staff nominated as emergency first aiders – either as the first aid cover in a lower-risk workplace, or to support fully trained first aiders in a larger one. The right level of cover should follow from the employer's own first aid needs assessment.
Course Content
The role and responsibilities of the emergency first aider, assessing an incident, CPR and the use of a defibrillator, managing an unresponsive casualty, choking, wounds and bleeding, shock, and minor injuries.

It depends on your first aid needs assessment. EFAW suits lower-risk workplaces; higher-risk or larger workplaces usually need first aiders trained on the three-day First Aid at Work course.
