NEBOSH General Certificate – classroom or live online
The
NEBOSH National General Certificate runs over nine taught days – Monday to Friday, then Monday to Thursday the following week – either in the Amesbury classroom or live online, with a new online cohort most months of 2027. It is assessed by the GNC1 online open-book exam, usually taken the week after the course, and the GNC2 workplace risk assessment, due within 10 working days of the exam. There are no entry requirements, so it suits managers, supervisors and anyone for whom health and safety is part of the day job. Compare other

The three-day
IOSH Managing Safely course runs both in the Amesbury classroom and live online. First aid and first aid for mental health
The three-day
First Aid at Work and one-day
Emergency First Aid at Work courses run quarterly at Amesbury, with certificates valid for three years. Alongside them sit a one-day First Aid for Mental Health course and the two-day FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health for managers and supervisors – see all

Service Leavers and ELCAS funding
The provider is ELCAS-approved (provider number 8747) and has deep-rooted links with the military community. Its courses can be self-funded or funded through Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC), the Standard Learning Credit (SLC) or the Individual Resettlement Training Costs (IRTC) grant, which makes the NEBOSH and IOSH certificates here a practical step for Service Leavers moving into civilian health and safety roles. NEBOSH General, NEBOSH Construction or IOSH Managing Safely?
IOSH Managing Safely is a three-day course that gives line managers and supervisors a practical grounding in managing risk in their own teams. The NEBOSH General Certificate goes considerably deeper and is the usual choice for anyone moving into a health and safety role in any sector. The NEBOSH Construction Certificate covers the same management ground but is built around construction sites and CDM duties, so it suits site managers and those working in construction, civil engineering and utilities.
