The Full NEBOSH Certificate, Taught Live Online over Nine Days

Course Overview

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety gives practical, trusted knowledge of health and safety management, UK health and safety law and day-to-day workplace hazard control. It is one of the most widely recognised health and safety qualifications for people who manage or supervise others, and it is delivered here by a NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner.

Who Should Attend?

Managers, supervisors and employees for whom health and safety forms part of their day-to-day responsibilities. There are no formal entry requirements, but NEBOSH recommends a standard of English equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher, because the assessments rely on reading and writing in English.

Course Content

The qualification has two separately assessed units:

  • GNC1 – Management of Health and Safety: four elements covering why health and safety should be managed, how health and safety management systems work, managing risk, and measuring and monitoring performance.
  • GNC2 – Risk Assessment: seven elements covering physical and psychological health, musculoskeletal health, chemical and biological agents, general workplace issues, work equipment, fire and electricity.

Assessment / Examination

GNC1 is assessed by an online open-book examination that tests your ability to apply health and safety knowledge to a realistic workplace scenario. GNC2 is a practical risk assessment of a workplace, submitted within 10 working days of the GNC1 exam date. The GNC1 exam and GNC2 deadline for each cohort are confirmed with your booking, and both units must be passed within five years of registration.

Course Duration

9 days, running Monday to Friday in the first week and Monday to Thursday in the second.

Delivery Method

Live online with a tutor in a virtual classroom – scheduled sessions on set dates, not self-paced e-learning. You will need a computer or laptop with a webcam, microphone and a reliable internet connection, and a quiet space for the duration of each session.

What's Included

Digital course materials and NEBOSH exam fees.

Certification

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, awarded once both GNC1 and GNC2 have been passed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any previous health and safety experience?

No. There are no formal entry requirements, although a good standard of written English (around IELTS 6.0) is recommended.

When is the exam?

The GNC1 open-book exam is taken online after the taught days finish – typically the following week – and the GNC2 risk assessment is then due within 10 working days. The dates for your cohort are confirmed when you book.

Can Service Leavers use ELCAS funding?

The provider is ELCAS-approved (provider number 8747). Service Leavers should check their eligibility with the ELCAS scheme before booking.

Is the online course the same qualification as the classroom course?

Yes. The syllabus, assessments and certificate are the same – only the way the tuition is delivered is different.
