Three Days of Live Online Safety Management Training

Course Overview

IOSH Managing Safely is a practical health and safety course for managers and supervisors who need to manage risks in their teams. It gives a clear understanding of how to manage health and safety effectively and of the legal responsibilities of organisations and individuals. Teaching combines presentations, group activities, case studies and discussion.

Who Should Attend?

Managers, supervisors and staff with health and safety responsibilities, from any industry. No previous health and safety knowledge or experience is needed.

Course Content

Seven modules:

• Introducing Managing Safely
• Assessing risk
• Controlling risks
• Understanding responsibilities
• Understanding hazards
• Investigating incidents
• Measuring performance

Assessment / Examination

Two parts, both of which must be passed: a 45-minute written test of 30 questions (pass mark 36 out of 60), and a practical workplace risk assessment project (pass mark 23 out of 36).

Delivery Method

Live online with a tutor in a virtual classroom – scheduled sessions on set dates, not self-paced e-learning. You will need a computer or laptop with a webcam, microphone and a reliable internet connection, and a quiet space for the duration of each session.

IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

Do I need any previous health and safety knowledge?

No. The course is designed for managers and supervisors in any sector, with no previous health and safety experience required.

How is IOSH Managing Safely assessed?

By a 45-minute, 30-question written test and a practical workplace risk assessment project. Both must be passed to receive the certificate.

Is the online course the same qualification as the classroom course?

Yes. The modules, assessments and certificate are the same – only the delivery is different.

Once the courses have been completed, a confirmation of results can be saved or printed as evidence. This can then be kept on record as evidence of suitable training.
