This half-day course is delivered in a classroom at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, S45 9JW. It covers both the safe use of ladders and stepladders and the formal inspection duties required under the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Anyone who uses ladders or stepladders as part of their work, and those responsible for inspecting and maintaining them. Delegates should be fit and capable of handling and manoeuvring ladders.

• The Work at Height Regulations and employer and employee duties
• Ladder and stepladder types and selecting the right equipment
• Pre-use checks and safe set-up
• Safe working practice and common causes of falls
• Formal inspection procedure and identifying defects
• Recording inspections, and advice on repair and disposal

Certification

Successful delegates receive a certificate on completion.
