UKATA Asbestos Awareness

This half-day UKATA Asbestos Awareness course is delivered in a classroom at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, S45 9JW. It gives workers the knowledge to recognise asbestos-containing materials and avoid disturbing them, as required under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Who is this Course Suitable For?

Anyone whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building — maintenance staff, electricians, plumbers, joiners, demolition workers and their supervisors. This is awareness training and does not qualify anyone to work with asbestos.

Course Content

• The properties of asbestos and its health effects
• Types and uses of asbestos-containing materials and where they are found
• The duty to manage and the asbestos register
• Avoiding the risk of disturbance during work
• What to do if asbestos is discovered or accidentally disturbed

Certification

Successful delegates receive a UKATA certificate. Refresher training is recommended annually.
