Our UKATA Asbestos Awareness course is a one-day training course for anyone whose work exposes them to asbestos. It gives you a greater understanding of the dangers of asbestos and how it affects the industry you work in, so you can protect yourself and others from the health consequences of disturbing it.

Who Should Attend
Anyone working in refurbishment, maintenance, demolition, utilities, construction, building trades, or any role where there is a risk of disturbing building fabric that might contain asbestos. The course is obligatory for those in building maintenance such as plumbers, electricians and construction workers.
Every employer must make sure that anyone liable to disturb asbestos during their normal work is given the training they need. This training is mandatory for workers in demolition, refurbishment and related industries who may be exposed to asbestos.

The course covers the legislation around asbestos, how to recognise it, and what to do if you work with asbestos-containing materials. Your trainer works through both solo and group practical activities.
