What is the UKATA Asbestos Awareness Course?

A UKATA-approved, CPD-accredited asbestos awareness course. Asbestos is a Class 1 carcinogen and the single largest cause of industrial disease in the UK. The course provides a thorough understanding and awareness of managing asbestos in buildings, meeting the training requirement of Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

What's Included in the Asbestos Awareness Course?

A morning of tutor-led training at an approved training centre, the end-of-course assessment and a UKATA-approved certificate on success. Group discounts are available from the provider.

• Overview of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
• The nature of asbestos and its effects on health
• Products and typical uses of asbestos
• Safe working procedures, including control measures and protective equipment
• Minimising exposure and preventative controls
• Emergency procedures for an asbestos incident

Assessment / Examination

15 multiple-choice questions.

Certification

Successful delegates receive a UKATA-approved certificate, valid for one year. The course is also CPD accredited.
