UKATA Asbestos Awareness Course in Harworth, Nottinghamshire (Classroom)

Our UKATA Asbestos Awareness course is a half-day classroom course giving delegates the knowledge to recognise asbestos-containing materials and avoid disturbing them. It meets the Category A awareness requirement under Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Who Should Attend

This course is required for anyone whose work could foreseeably disturb the fabric of a building that may contain asbestos. That includes builders, electricians, plumbers, joiners, roofers, maintenance staff, demolition workers and anyone supervising them.

• Types, uses and likely locations of asbestos-containing materials
• How to recognise materials that may contain asbestos
• What to do if you discover or accidentally disturb asbestos
• Emergency procedures and legal duties under CAR 2012

Certification

Successful delegates receive a UKATA Asbestos Awareness certificate. Refresher training is recommended annually.

Classroom delivery at our training centre: Unit 9 Snape Lane Industrial Estate, Harworth, Doncaster, DN11 8SP. This course runs as a morning session starting at 08:00. Group bookings are available on request.

Does this qualify me to work with asbestos?
No. This is Category A awareness training only. It teaches you to recognise and avoid asbestos, not to work with or remove it.

How often should I refresh this training?
Refresher training is recommended annually.

Do you offer group bookings?

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
