Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is delivered in a classroom at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, S45 9JW. It qualifies a designated first aider to manage common workplace injuries and emergencies, and suits lower-risk workplaces identified by a first aid needs assessment.
Who is this Course Suitable For?
Anyone nominated as a first aider in a lower-risk workplace such as an office, shop or small business. No previous experience or qualifications are required.
Course Content
- The role and responsibilities of the emergency first aider
- Assessing an incident and managing an unresponsive casualty
- CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator
- Choking, seizures and shock
- Wounds, bleeding and minor injuries
- Recording and reporting
Certification
Successful delegates receive a certificate valid for three years. The HSE strongly recommends annual refresher training during that period, and requalification must be completed before the certificate expires. Check your expiry date with our free tool.
