What is the NATAS Non-Licensed Asbestos Works Refresher Course?

This NATAS Non-Licensed removal of asbestos refresher computer based training is a statutory course for employees who wish to continue working with non-licensed asbestos material.

Who is the Non-Licensed Asbestos Works Refresher Course Suitable For?

If you are looking for further training for individuals working with asbestos, then our non-licensed asbestos works online refresher course is the ideal choice. This online course focuses on asbestos removal training and allows employees to continue working directly with asbestos-containing materials upon completion and certification. Non-licensed asbestos workers wishing to take the course must have already completed initial classroom training, such as our non-licensed removal training from NATAS. The asbestos removal training covered in the course is suitable for employees needing refreshed knowledge of working with asbestos.

Why is Asbestos Dangerous?

Millions of buildings and facilities across the UK contain asbestos, which is why it is paramount that employees on your team have at least initial awareness training. Statistically, it is to be expected that across a wide range of professions, employees may encounter asbestos-containing materials and must know how to limit their exposure.

So, what makes it so dangerous?

A popular building material from its importation to the UK in 1860 to the date it was banned in 1999, asbestos is made up of tiny fibres that can be inhaled and cause asbestos-related diseases when airborne. Fortunately, this is only a hazard when the asbestos-containing material is disturbed, although this is what makes keeping up-to-date with asbestos removal training critical.

Why Are Asbestos Removal Course Refreshers Important?

The disturbance of asbestos-containing materials can lead to serious health hazards and risks to those working directly with the materials. Whether repairing or removing asbestos-containing materials, asbestos fibres may become airborne and easily inhaled by those working on the project.

Asbestos-related diseases cause the death of 4,000 tradespeople in the UK each year, although this number is estimated to rise to 10,000 in the next few years. So, protecting your team as much as possible is paramount for employers.

How Often Should Asbestos Removal Training Be Refreshed?

As mentioned, initial training must be taken as a face to face course, while the non-licensed asbestos works online refresher course can be taken as an annual CBT refresher. It is recommended that refresher courses are completed on a yearly basis as standard to ensure all employees are working to the latest health and safety standards and guidelines to protect themselves best.

This online refresher course must be taken within twelve months of initial training or within twelve months of the previous online refresher course.
