Course Unit
CN1 – Managing Construction Health and Safety
The qualification is made up of one central unit covering 13 elements, including the CDM Regulations, managing health and safety, risk assessment, and the control of common construction hazards such as work at height, excavations, demolition, and vehicle and plant operations.
Assessment
Assessed by the CN1 open-book digital assessment — a scenario-based risk assessment exercise completed within a 48-hour window and submitted through the NEBOSH portal, followed by a short closing interview. You must pass CN1 to achieve the full qualification.
Who Is It For & Entry Requirements
Ideal for site managers, supervisors, contractors and anyone with health and safety responsibilities on construction projects. There are no formal entry requirements, and learners no longer need to hold the NEBOSH General Certificate first, though a suitable standard of English is recommended.
Delivery & What's Included
Tutor-led classroom training at Broadway House, Westminster, London (SW1H 9NQ), run over 10 days as two split weeks, 09:00–17:00. The all-inclusive price covers the venue, refreshments, printed course materials, tutor support and the first sitting of the assessment.

Devices
All of our online learning courses have been developed to give the best learning experience on a desktop or laptop computer, but some of them can now be accessed on tablets, like the iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab. There are a wide range of tablets on the market and although the courses should work on all of them, to get the best mobile experience we recommend a few things:
- A minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 600, with a recommended screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher.
- Generally the standard web browser is the best one to use, so on an iPad, for example, use Safari. You may also need to change a setting in the browser to allow cookies from 3rd parties (you definitely will with Safari).
- The courses are accessed most easily when connected to Wi-Fi rather than mobile data networks. If you do access via a mobile data network please note that you may be charged by your service provider, depending on your contract.
The courses are best viewed in landscape but on occasion you might need to turn to portrait, to close a pop-up for example.
