Course Duration
This is a five-day course delivered over live online sessions. The assessments are completed afterwards: an open book exam (24 hours to complete, typically taking 4-5 hours) and a practical fire risk assessment, making the overall qualification a focused one-week commitment.
Assessment
Assessment has two parts. The open book examination presents a realistic workplace scenario and can be completed at home or another suitable location within a 24-hour window. The practical fire risk assessment is based on recognised standards including the Home Office fire safety guidance and PAS79-1:2020, and is typically completed in around three hours. Both are marked by an external NEBOSH examiner.
Certification
Successful candidates receive the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety, a Level 3 qualification recognised by employers worldwide and suitable for anyone moving into a fire safety adviser role.
