Who the Level 2 Fitted Interiors NVQ is for

This NVQ is for people who already install fitted interiors and want their skills formally recognised. It suits kitchen fitters, bedroom fitters and bathroom installers, self-employed tradespeople, and employers who want to qualify staff already doing the work.

What the Level 2 Fitted Interiors NVQ involves

Delivery Method

A workplace-based NVQ with no classroom sessions, no day release and no written exam. You build an electronic portfolio from the installations you carry out, uploading evidence from site, home or the office, with your assessor supporting you remotely, face to face or a mix of both.

Duration

Many candidates finish in around 4 to 8 weeks. You work at your own pace, so the time taken depends on your experience, your availability and how quickly you can supply evidence.

Course Content

The qualification covers working safely and effectively on site alongside the occupational work of installing fitted furniture and interiors, such as kitchen, bedroom and bathroom units, worktops and associated fittings. An induction at the start reviews your experience and plans the evidence you will need.

Assessment

• Professional discussion with your assessor
• Observation of you working on site
• Photo and video evidence of completed installations
• Work-based documents, such as job sheets and method statements
• Witness testimonies from supervisors or clients

Certification

A nationally recognised Level 2 NVQ Certificate awarded by ProQual. Qualification number 603/0321/9.

CSCS Card

The qualification is a recognised route to the Blue Skilled Worker CSCS card. Once you are certificated, the card application is handled for you, and help is available with a Temporary Red CSCS card while your NVQ is in progress.

Is there an exam for the Level 2 Fitted Interiors NVQ?

No. There is no written exam or classroom test. Your assessor judges your competence from evidence of your own work, professional discussion and observation, either on site or through photos and video.
