Who the Level 2 Formwork NVQ (Formwork Erector and Striker) is for

The Formwork Erector and Striker pathway is for operatives who already erect, strike and maintain formwork and proprietary shuttering systems on site, and want formal recognition of that competence. Employers can use it to qualify their existing formwork gangs.

Delivery Method

Work-based NVQ with no written test, exam or classroom time. A qualified assessor guides you using examples from your own job, with remote or face-to-face support.

Duration

There is no fixed length. Experienced operatives can fast-track the NVQ, or take longer to fit it around work.

Course Content

Your evidence focuses on erecting formwork in position, striking it safely once the concrete has cured and maintaining proprietary systems, while following safety standards, site procedures and correct tool use.

Assessment

• Professional discussion with your assessor
• Observation on site, or through video and photo evidence
• Work-based evidence such as RAMS, job logs and site diaries
• Witness statements from supervisors or colleagues

Certification

ProQual Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Formwork (Formwork Erector and Striker pathway), awarded once your portfolio has been completed and verified. Qualification number 601/1955/X.
