This pathway is for roofers who finish solar installations, making the roof weathertight around panels and fixings and handing it back in good order. It recognises that experience formally and supports an application for the blue CSCS Skilled Worker card.

Delivery Method

NVQ, assessed in your workplace by a qualified assessor, with support given remotely or face to face. There is no classroom attendance.

Course Content

The protection and handover pathway looks at reinstating roof coverings around brackets and panels, fitting weathering and flashings, checking the roof is watertight, and handing the completed area over. Mandatory units on health, safety and welfare and productive working practices are included.

Assessment

• No written test or exam
• Professional discussion with your assessor
• Observation on site, or through video and photo evidence
• Evidence from your everyday work, such as RAMS, job logs and site diaries
• Witness statements from supervisors or colleagues

Certification

ProQual Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations (Construction), qualification number 601/7792/5, a nationally recognised qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework.

Prerequisites
