ProQual NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Roofing Occupations – Thatching

Who the Level 2 Roofing NVQ (Thatching) is for

Thatching is a specialist craft, and this pathway lets working thatchers gain a nationally recognised qualification for it without leaving the job to study. It suits thatchers who want formal proof of competence and those who need the blue CSCS Skilled Worker card to work on site.

Thatching NVQ FAQs

Is there an exam for the thatching NVQ?

No. You are assessed on evidence from your own thatching work, a professional discussion with your assessor and observation on site or through photos and video.

How long does the Level 2 thatching NVQ take?

There is no fixed length. Thatchers with evidence ready can fast-track, and others can take longer around their work.

Which CSCS card does it lead to?

Completing the qualification lets you apply for the blue CSCS Skilled Worker card.

Do I need to be working as a thatcher?

Yes. The assessment is based on real thatching jobs, so you need to be working in the trade while you complete it.
