Who the Level 3 Construction Planning NVQ is for

This route is for construction planners who already prepare and update works programmes, sequence activities and plan labour, plant and materials on live projects. If you hold supervisory responsibility and want your planning experience recognised, it also leads to the Gold Supervisor CSCS card.

Delivery Method

NVQ – assessed through a portfolio drawn from your current projects, with support remotely, in person or both. No classroom attendance, day release or written exams are involved.

Flexible: fast-track if you have the evidence to hand, or progress at your own pace alongside your workload.

Course Content

The Planning pathway covers producing and monitoring programmes, organising resources, tracking progress against targets and helping the site team respond when work slips. You are also assessed on health and safety, quality monitoring, cost control and co-ordinating project activities.

Assessment

• Guidance from a qualified assessor using your real work
• Professional discussion
• Evidence such as programmes, progress reports, RAMS and site diaries
• Observation on site or via photos and video
• Witness statements from colleagues or supervisors

Certification

ProQual Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations (qualification number 603/0357/8). The package includes a CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, Safety and Environment test and CSCS card application support, with a temporary card if required.

Prerequisites
