What the Level 6 NVQ in Occupational Health and Safety Practice involves

Delivery Method

NVQ – assessed in the workplace. There are no classroom sessions, no day release and no written exams. You upload evidence to an electronic portfolio from site, home or the office, and your assessor supports you remotely, face to face or through a blend of both.

Course Duration

Many learners finish in 4–8 weeks, depending on their experience, availability and evidence, with a fast-track option available. You can progress at your own pace.

Course Content

The qualification centres on managing health and safety in practice: assessing and controlling risk, carrying out audits and inspections, investigating incidents, developing policies and procedures, and promoting compliance across the workforce. Your assessor confirms the unit combination with you at induction.
