This NRSWA – New Roads and Streetworks Act will provide you with the mechanism for recognising competence in excavation and reinstatement in the highway.

NRSWA Operative Units of competence within the New Roads and Streetworks Act are:

• Signing, lighting and guarding.

NRSWA Supervisor Units of competence within the New Roads and Streetworks Act are:

• Monitoring signing, lighting and guarding.

The information on this course is generally delivered through a combination of practical assessments and classroom training.

Requirements

A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course. If you have any concerns regarding this please contact our office and we discuss available options (e.g. hiring a translator at an additional cost).

Assessment

At the end of the course, candidates will be required to pass a multiple choice test.

Certification

Once the course has been completed candidates will receive a CABWI Certificate and SWQR ID card.

When Does the Qualification Expire?

The certificate and card lasts for 5 years.

How to Renew the Qualification

In order for candidates to renew their NRSWA qualification they must attend the 2 day refresher course after 5 years.

• What is the CSCS card?

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
